    Behind This Tea

    This cultivar (TTES no.21) is also known as Hong Yun, was developed by the Taiwan Tea and Beverage Research Center. Its mother plant is the Indian Assam variety Kyang, and its father plant is the Keemun variety Kimen/Qimen 祁門. It is the 22nd seed in a series of naturally hybridized offspring, officially named on October 17, 2008. The tree is a small deciduous tree with a medium-sized form and strong growth potential.
